Helen Lee BVSc MRCVS

Helen Lee is the senior Veterinary Surgeon at Walton Lodge. Helen qualified from Bristol University in 1984 and has worked in Hertfordshire since 1985 as a small animal Veterinary Surgeon. In 2000, Helen and her partner Rodney Pugh started the Walton Lodge Group, which has now flourished to over seven surgeries.

Helens philosophy: “pets are more than just animals - they are our patients, every minute detail of concern and consideration is to observed and acted upon immediately”.

Helen's love for animals open out to her own pets, including her two cats Mustang and Tibs and cheeky kitten called Nala. She also has two German Shepherd dogs called Lady and Gent and a Chinese Crested dog called Oscar who is a five-month old, three-legged 'rescuee'.

Zoe Whiting BVetMed MRCVS

Zoe qualified from the Royal Veterinary College (R.V.C) in 1999. She worked with pets, farm animals and horses in the Midlands for six years. She began working for Walton Lodge in 2005. Zoe is one of our longest serving and most experienced vets, she enjoys focusing solely on small animals, and continues to find the daily variety of first opinion work interesting and rewarding.

Benjamin Orton BSc (HONs) BVetMed MRCVS

Ben joined the Walton Lodge team after qualifying from the R.V.C with honors in 2009. He is one of our most dynamic vets and enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, but has particular interest in diagnostic imaging, where he has done several courses in ultasonography over the past few years.

One of Ben's other main interests is sport and he has recently run his sixth marathon in the aid of the Motor Neuron Disease Association. In April 2012 Ben will be running for this very important chairty in the London marathon.

Joe Hanekon BVSc MRCVS

Joe is one of our international vets who graduated from Onderstepoort, Pretoria, South Africa. Joe joined the team in 2009 and is currently studying Masters in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health (MSC Vet.Epi Pub.health). Joe has a particular interest in Orthopaedic surgery, especially cruciate and medical patella luxation.

Susanne Kaiser VetMB MRCVS

Susanne is also one of our experienced international vets who graduated from Berlin, Germany in 1998. Susanne came to the UK in 2009 and worked in the Midlands before joining the Walton Lodge team earlier this year (2011). Susanne has a particular interest in internal medicine and has started work towards her certificate in feline medicine. She has also recently became a member of the International Society of Feline Medicine.

Paulina Ruszelak VetMB MRCVS

Paulina is one of our other experienced international vets who started work in Bradford, after graduating from the University of Wroclaw, Poland in 2006. Paulina Joined the Walton Lodge team in 2008. In early 2011, she took maternity leave to give birth to her little girl; returning back to work in December, 2011. Paulina has a particular interest in diabetes mellitus and soft tissue surgery.

Paulina's love of animals extends to a very large Lucher called Loopi Lou, whom she rescued.

Katy Thompson BVetMed MRCVS

Katy Graduated from the R.V.C in 2010. Katy joined our team 2011 and is very passionate about her work, she is particularly interested in diagnostics imaging and is excited to get her certificate in ultrasonography. Katy lives on a farm locally with her beloved cat Millie.

Sid Sudunagunta BVetMed MRCVS

Sid qualified from the R.V.C earlier this year and joined our team October, 2011. He is already one of our most popular vets. Sid is interested in all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, particularly cardiology. 

Melissa Heaney MVB MRCVS

Melissa is from County Down, Northern Ireland and graduated from the university in Dublin earlier this year. Melissa joined our team in late August, 2011. She is certainly one of our most enthusiastic team members and is interested all types of small animal surgery.

James Thorne BSc (HONs) BVetMed MRCVS

James qualified as a graduate student from the RVC in 2009, after first completing a degree with honors at the University of Wales Swansea in Marine Biology. It has always been James' passion to be a vet and he is happy to report the years of study were more than worth it. James has had 10 years experience looking after various unwanted animals for the RSPCA leading up to being qualified. Subsequently he prides himself in having a great deal of experience dealing with nervous and difficult pets. James has a keen interest in dermatology, internal medicine and cardiology. He would also like to further develop his skills in soft tissue surgery. James loves the challenge that comes with DIY, he lives and breathes sport, reluctant to say he follows Tottenham Hotspurs FC and Wales RFU.
